The Red Fox

Stopped here for lunch yesterday, on our trip to the House Cat Museum and Winchester Creek Farms. We had to eat at the bar, because they were very busy. The food was delicious. Service was amazing. Try the Palmetto cheese Appetizer. You will not be disappointed.

I recently visited The Ref Fox and had an outstanding experience. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting, making it a great place to unwind. I ordered the BBQ sandwich, which was incredibly flavorful and expertly prepared. The friendly and attentive service only enhanced the meal, as the staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. Overall, The Ref Fox is a must-visit for delicious food and a cozy dining experience!

My cousins and I came in around 7:30, they were closing at 8:00. We had the most fun server (I cannot remember his name though). Food was EXCELLENT I had Chicken Schnitzel omg... so good, the cabbage was out of this . Cousin #1 had a sandwich she loved with 2 cocktails and Cousin # 2 had an amazing pasta dish. FUN AND YUMMY...

Today I had Mary Etta take care of me. She was Awesome!! Attention to detail, very knowledgeable about the menu and beer. Great place. Good food. Suggest doing from 3pm to 6pm half price appetizers at the bar, 4.00 beer specials, 4.00 well drinks on certain days? Bar was empty on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Just saying everyone does specials to drive sales. Your Taco Tuesdays are a big hit, let's do more.

We went, kinda late, for dinner. We arrived around 8:15. The place was pretty much empty. Love the aesthetic and all the decor! Our waitress was amazing and funny. I wish I would've asked for her name. We got our food quickly and it was really good! We all tried something different. I highly recommend the chicken and waffle sandwich with a side of pimento mac and cheese! We will definitely be going back!

My wife and I came here for lunch today on a whim! She googled places and this came up and since we had never been, we figured why not! Man. Whomever the chef is that designed the menu, is a genius. The flavors in everything we had absolutely complimented each other and didn’t cancel one another out, sometimes when you get really creative in mixing flavors regardless if it’s wet or dry, sometimes it is bland because they don’t work together but maaan NOT here! First and foremost so I can get this out of the way, the only reason this is not 5 stars across the board is because when we walked in the smell of seafood is very strong and if you don’t/can’t eat seafood like me, it’s a bit abrasive/nauseating. When the food got in front of us, I just indulged in that as it smelled as good as it tasted. We started with the short rib egg rolls. I’d legit order two of these and call it dinner too if I’m being honest. It had chow chow, greens, pimento cheese, a blueberry BBQ drizzle and Alabama white for dipping! I ended up with the Maple Bourbon Hot Chicken & Waffle Sandwich and fries, something as simple as French fries were literally cooked to perfection in not just texture, but of course flavor so the sandwich was amazing! My wife got the Red/White/Blue burger and rosemary fries and that was a special being it’s Memorial Day weekend, and she absolutely loved it. Our server was Connor and he was super polite, knowledgeable on anything we asked and nice to chat with too. If you’re in Waynesville, or even the Asheville area in general, GO HERE

This was our first time coming to the Red Fox and we were extremely impressed! The building and decor have so much thought put into the design and coordination. There was plenty of seating and apart from the bar the tables were all wheel chair accessible. I also love that the tables are spaced apart well so it does not feel cramped at all. We tried the pimento cheese skillet to start and I’m honestly obsessed, it was perfect! For entrees we tried the smash burger with seasoned fried which was cooked perfectly and not at all dry. We also tried the chicken tenders with grilled veggies which were delicious and the ribs with mashed potatoes that were perfectly tender. Service was great, our server Allison was attentive and polite. Some of the reviews complaining about wait times really need to consider that this was their opening weekend, they were packed open to close and it’s Memorial Day weekend as well. Overall a great experience!

Nice beer selection. Been there a few times for lunch/dinner. Always good. Staff is perfect, friendly, attentive. Best deal is their Taco Tuesday. 3 each - 6 different kinds to choose from a different special each week. Smoke Trout appetizer is great. We will be back - probably on a Tuesday.
